Mercer County teen loses battle with pulmonary fibrosis

TRENTON: Patience Lee Maldonado-Gilchrist 16 , better known as “Coco”, had pulmonary fibrosis she had been waiting for years.. On the transplant list, on Christmas Eve, she finally received her transplant at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in 2015. Coco began to have problems causing here to go back into the hospital due to the lungs she received over a period of time . On Tuesday March 17th family members announced that CoCo had lost her battle with her illness on her social media account. Coco was featured on Peterson’s news back in 2014/ 2015 when she received her Christmas miracle with a new set of lungs Coco was very well known in the Trenton community. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

The family has set up a GoFund me account to assist with funeral expenses .
